Meet Lynden Childers!

I struggled with my weight all of my life, felt like the oddball and unaccepted all through school. As I reached adulthood, I began feeling a little more accepted but life was still difficult. Being over weight affects every aspect of your life and I mean every aspect!

Meet Dianna!

My name is Dianna Mogelgaard, and Dr. Champion performed a RNY on me 1/15/04. Prior to surgery, I weighed 300 lbs. and was plagued with numerous co-morbidities associated with obesity such as sleep apnea, high cholesterol and chronic joint/muscle pain. With the help of the surgery and the post-operative support of Dr. Champion’s staff, I lost 170 lbs and have kept it off since that time The journey started with the surgery, and continued from that point forward. Healthy eating habits, regular exercise and the support of my doctors, friends and family have become essential for my continued success. It is wonderful to be healthy again! My heartfelt thanks to Dr. Champion and his wonderful staff!

Meet Captain Jim!

Capt’n Jim hails from Maryland. He has had two simultaneous careers; one in Broadcasting and one as a Reserve Officer in the Army Capt’n Jim began his broadcast career in High School as a PA announcer for the High School football games. He went on to own his own station and with a partner did a two man Morning Show for over 35 years. He sold his station and retired from full time broadcasting in 2003.

Meet Christie!

Thinking back to February of 2004, I remember being so down about anyone I used to know seeing me that I wouldn’t even make an appointment to get my hair done. My husband looked at me and said, “You have stopped living and we need to find you some help.” I’d mentioned gastric bypass surgery before and we’d both agreed that it sounded like such a drastic measure that it would only be for those dying. Well…I had basically died. I didn’t live my life any longer. I worked and came home and hid from the world.

Bariatric Success

Meet The Fabers !

About 4 years ago, my husband Michael and I were severely obese. We had tried, as many; many do, to lose weight with various diets, health clubs, exercise and nutritionist. In each case we had some successes, but never lost all of our weight and what weight we did lose we did not manage to keep off. Each time we had lost weight we gained back the weight we lost, plus gained even more. Over time Michael had almost reached the 400lb mark and I was very near 300lbs.

Meet Jan!

My challenges with obesity did not occur until my early 20’s, until then I had enjoyed a life of activity, “normal” sized clothing, and abundant confidence. As I packed on the pounds over the next 15 years I also packed away my life of social activity, Size 10 and 12 clothing, and all my self confidence and personal esteem.

Meet Julie!

It seems as if I’ve struggled with weight all my life… at least since age 9. I was a size 14/16 all through high school. By the time I met my husband, I weighed in at 165. Over the next 6 years I continued to gain. I tried fad diets, diet pills, medical diets, and even went to a psychiatrist where I asked “What is wrong with me?”

Meet Christy!

I have lost 134 pounds and have gone from a size 24 to a 6 as of today. I recently selected to compete for Mrs. Georgia International. This pageant will be April 25, 2004 at 6 pm in the Holiday Inn Ballroom on Holcombe Bridge Road.
