The REALIZE™ Band is an adjustable device that is surgically implanted and used to help an individual shed excess weight. The REALIZE™ Band is inserted around the upper portion of the stomach region and aids in weight loss by limiting and controlling the amount of food intake of the patient. The REALIZE™ band houses a port which creates the capability for adjustment over time by the physician, leading to enhanced weight loss. In addition to limiting food intake, the REALIZE™ Band also dramatically slows the digestion process down since it has now divided the stomach into 2 small pouches or chambers. The end result leaves the patient feeling fuller, for a longer duration - while consuming substantially less food.
